About Our School

Benjamin Franklin Middle School is located in the southeastern corner of the Town of Tonawanda, adjacent to Lincoln Park.  It was founded in 1952, originally named Benjamin Franklin Junior High.  Behind Franklin Middle you will find Adams Field (formerly Parker Field), which is a district athletics complex used primarily for Kenmore East High School athletic programs.

Following World War II, the Franklin Elementary and Junior High Complex was built. The elementary school was then a K-6 school and the middle school consisted of grades 7 through 9.  Beginning with the 1981-82 school year, grade level configurations were modified: sixth grade was moved to the middle schools, and ninth grade was moved to the high schools.  To accommodate population changes, the Franklin complex made yet another shift in 2016 when 5th grade moved to middle school and 8th grade to high school.

Benjamin Franklin Middle School currently has a student enrollment that is nearly 600 students in grades 5-7.
